Looks phantastic! I like the paint scheme. How did you get the color rings on the missiles? Did you paint or use decal?

Thanks!  I was going to use decals, but they pretty well fell apart as soon as I tried to move them, so I landed up painting them on.

Tickmagnet, Thanks!  They are one mean looking plane!

ridleusmc, Thank you!

Nice job. F-4's to me are the best looking military jet aircraft ever made.

Turned out nice.  I like that cammo.

Thanks!  Me too.  I wasn't too sure of it at first, but I like the whole contrast between the the darker colors and the bright orange.  Something a little different.

Hey, Mrs. Keyda. Beautiful job on the Phantom. One of my all time favorites as well. I used to watch them fly out of NAS New Orleans as a kid. There was an ANG unit stationed there that flew D models if I remember correctly. I built the Monogram kit as a kid and I remember the horizontal stabilizers were a bear. You did an awesome job.

Thanks BK!

Bish, Thank you, I do too.  I wasn't sure I was going to like it at first, since I'm used to the dark tan.

Greg, Thanks, lol.

Thank you PFJN!

goldhammer, Thanks, they were stationed at the air base here quite some time ago.  Wish they were still flying.

mrmike, Thanks!

Thanks lewbud!

Raymond G, Thank you.  They were stationed at the local base way back when, but I was under 10 years old at the time, and didn't pay much attention to that kind of stuff yet.  Kicking myself now though, lol.

Thanks Mopar Madness!

Straycat, Yea, I'm not entirely sure on that either.  I built it as per the kit instructions as a D, but used the paint scheme and decals from the aftermarket decal sheet, which didn't say anything about the weapons.  If that's your only nitpick, I'm fine with that, lol.  Thank you!

GAF, Thank you!

Beautiful looking Phantom, Keyda!  I too remember them flying over Birmingham back in the 70s when the Alabama Air National Guard flew RF-4Cs.  Used to drive the football fans crazy on Sundays!

Very nice, Keyda. If I may be permitted one small nitpick, I don’t think the Sidewinders are accurate for the Phantom at that point in their service, but I realize Monogram puts the same version in pretty much all their kits.

Other than that, very very nice job.

Nice build! I have a fond spot in my heart for the Phantom. I can remember watching them fly through town as a kid. I actually had a regular customer who was a WIZO that flew them out of Da Nang in 68. Thanks for sharing! Raymond

Phreshly phinished F-4 Phantom.

This is Monogram's 1/48 F-4 Phantom 2.  Decent older kit.  No major fit issues.  The intake pieces were a little tricky, but overall not too bad.

I did use aftermarket decals.  The decals from the kit might of stuck to the model if I taped them on, lol.  I happened to have a set of the 'Mig Killers' decals from Reid Air Publishing.  Great decals by the way.  I only lost one or two of the stencils, which you can't possibly see any of them unless you stick your nose on the plane and look.

I did put a few streaks of grime and oil leaks on this one, although in the pics you can't really tell.  I didn't have any aircraft painted with the Euro camo, so I decided to go that route.  I really like how it turned out.

On display with the Monogram RF-101 Voodoo
