1/48 Hobby Boss A-4F Sky Hawk - What if Russian Navy
Posted by Grant Dalzell on Saturday, November 24, 2018 12:24 AM

Part 2 of my "what if" or "opposites" is done. This is the 1/48 Hobby Boss A-4F Skyhawk, finished in the Russian Navy scheme that the Yak would be.

Main camo is Akan paints (Yak set funnily enough). Other paints used - Tamiya, Vallejo and Gunze acrylics, Vallejo Metal Color. Flory Dark Dirt Wash and Mig Satin varnish.

Some people don't get this concept, but I like the "what if" idea, to see what an aircraft would look like in another nations' livery, Especially adversaries. I find it's a good way to have some fun, not having to follow instructions to the letter, restore that *** to.

Looks good Grant.  Like the Russian rocket pods.  Look forward to more of your what-ifs.

Thanks,

John

I like them. Of course, a Scooter would look good in anything. I'm looking forward to seeing more.

Da, is goood Russian earcraft, only Igor iis 2 and a hav metres tall, how he goiing to fiit in tiny plane?

My model club has a person who almost exclusively finishes her builds in "what if". It is alot of fun seeing what she comes up with.

I love scooters and yours is no different, really really cool. And I'm guessing the " U.S. Navy bird is actually the Yak. Beautiful work.

we're modelers it's what we do

I just joined the forum yesterday and stumbled across this today; looks great and I love the concept.  I have a few similar ideas I've been planning ... but i had those ideas... before coming here Smile LOL.  I'll be sure to post them here (this forum, not this thread).

Now I've got to find your part 1 post.
