Eric, i am not expert on the type or the kit. But i just looked at the instructions of both on scalemates. And apart from the bottom halves of the lower wing, they look identical. My understanding is that the Mk II had metal lower wings to carry rockets. Looking at the parts that are listed as unused on the Mk II, many of the parts from the Mk I are included except the lower wing halves. You would have to open up the landing light holes but the clear piece is included.

These are the links to both kits on scalemates and you can open the instructions and check them out.

I am a Norfolk man and i glory in being so

Can I build a Swordfish I out of the Tamiya Swordfish II kit?

HI
Like to get the 1/48 Tamiya Swordfish. Do want to build the Swordfish I, but the newer Swordfish II kit is much easier to find. Can I build a Swordfish I with this kit? I'd guess yes, but this is a costly kit and wouldn't want to find out that surgery would be required

Thanks
Eric

A model boat is much cheaper than a real one and won't sink with you in it.
