I'm really glad that you like this kit and you are looking forwards to diving into it.

Now to tell you a secret. I worked on this kit alongside HKM's boss and using my veteran connections provided copies of blueprints, technical and maintainance manuals made available from the BBMF, Lincolnshire Heritage and companies who provide maintainance overhaul support. Alongside my own walk round photos of both interior and exterior.

a wealth of information has gone in to this kit and the reason why it has been delayed so long is that some parts have not been easy shape wise to get right and also HK's boss wanted it as close as possible to the real thing but still to be a build that provides a positive and fun experience while providing a wealth of detail. Some things will have been left out and some things simplified for ease of moulding and the opportunity of AM providers To provide etched detail upgrades and for items that is just not possible to mould with the level of detail needed.

As I said in my last post, you should invest in Master Models Browning barrels set that is available now and then hang on and wait until Eduard work their magic. They do their stuff from the actual release kit so I would expect February/March for their sets and a masking set is a must for all the glass in this kit!

While I don't know what their approach will be I reckon that there wil be a masking set, cockpit set, bomb bay set and exterior set.

Until this lot comes available I would be making plans for the build for how you want the finished thing to look.

I would also look at Vallejo's Bomber Command paint set. Get some accurate paints on it!

Yes they are, cant stand it. going to old school dry brushing..so be it. the fuselage is two part as is the wings, some trees have multi letter call outs, some PE that i dont understand why. its going to be a long biuld and thats OK, they give a clear fuselage, could be use full in a wrecked Diorama...I have also pre ordered the 1/32 liberator....some day soon maybe

Hello James, sorry I dissed eduard it seems. This will be a great long awaited build for me, every engine is detailed. Some pe where I dont understand, but be aware some trees have multi letter call outs, not tricky to an old dog, this kit will be bigger than my 1/32 b-17g, the fuselage is multi parts as so the wings,  as far as eduard goes, I probaly wished I waited,. going back to old scool dry brushing insterments and so forth...My PRE-ORDER is in for the 1/32 Liberator, the pitt bull over Japan and Germany. yes most will argue the b-17 was more heavily armored, and true. but #s matter

Master Models have brought out a set of Browning gun barrels for the HK kit. I got my set at Telford. I would put a link up, but I'm not on my PC.

As Bish said, Just hang on because I get the feeling that Eduard will release coloured panels for the cockpit, and other areas from their new LOOK range and probably a set to detail up other areas including maybe the bomb bay.

mine should arrive in January after the Christmas rush direct from the factory!

I suppose your fingers are itching so dive into the box, have a good look round and then tell us what you really think.

I would imagine the Eduard PE set will be a couple of months behind the release of the kit. Its hard for them to release the PE when the kit has yet to be released.

I am a Norfolk man and i glory in being so

Club President brought his in last night.....impresssive kit.  Looks to be well moulded, has solid and clear fuselage sides and nose (to go with the full interior).  Decals for 3 aircraft. No figures included, but he mentioned they are available.  Didn't see much if any flash on it (everything still bagged though) and didn't handle much of it looking for pin marks and sinks. The box by itself will take up most of a closet shelf-lol

Will be a monster when built.
