I've been hearing about this for a short while. Anything would be better than the ESCI kit. I have the Hobby Boss -4, a couple of the Grand Phoenix -4's and a couple of the Collect Aire -4's. I also keep hearing about a posible F7U-3 from KH in 1/48. If they do, I hope it's got wing folds! I have the Hobby Craft-3  in a few variants-used the CollectAire correction set for all but one. I did a "What If" 7U-3 as a two seater. I got the CA F7U-1 a long time ago, haven't built it yet. Hope springs eternal!

They showed CAD drawings quite a while ago, and then protype photos of the models maybe six months ago. It was originally supposed to be released in March or April, but that has been pushed back to August. I agree that it pretty much has to be better than the old ESCI kit. I'm hoping that it's more like their Cougar than their Banshee. I've wanted a good 1/48 FJ-3 for a very long time.

I have a gal at Kitty Hawk that emails me when the new kits are ready and she offers me discounted pricing. I have not heard from her on this kit as yet.
