Testors 1/72 F4U x2 Corsair build with Ezra COMPLETED
Posted by Tosh on Monday, December 24, 2018 7:46 AM

To my fellow forum members,

Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!  I finally got the answer for Mrs. Toshi’s issue with her shunt.  It’s not needed.  She’s just doing pain management and has been resting. God forbid, she’s had enough stays at the hospital with surgery, Proton Therapy, infection, and another surgery.  I feel this up and coming year will be fantastic!

I’ve been locked out and unable to log in until today.  Thanks to enash for fixing this issue for me.  I think a large majority of members have been unfortunately locked out as well.

This year has been a really rough year, I ended up in University Hospital recently due to a seizure.  I went in not knowing what was going on and just got back home yesterday, hence my correspondence to you all now.

I‘m in the process of starting this kit as soon as possible, it’s a great looking kit.  I decided that one of the corsairs I’ll build will be dark blue.  Ezra’s is lite blue.  I want to thank you all, FSM Forum Members rock!

P.S.  A really big hurrah to Mr. Tim Pressnall!!! I want to thank you personally for this amazing gift.  Ezra and I are really enjoying this build!

Very nice to hear from you again, Allan, and I'm glad to learn that Mrs. Toshi is doing better. Hopefully this will be the year when all of these health issues are resolved, I wish you all the best for your families future. Looking forward to seeing some of Ezra's work, when he is building right along side of you. I'll bet that will be a happy sight.

Happy New Year, Mr. and Mrs. Toshi.

Glad to hear that Ms. Toshi is doing better. I'm sorry to hear about your seizure, but I'm happy your back, and on the mend. ( No more of those .... one is enough ! )

Cant wait to see what you, and Ezra do with those kit's . I have made a 5 gallon bucket of popcorn, and pulled up my "Comfy chair".

Merry Christmass, and Happy new year !

Dont worry about the thumbprint, paint it Rust , and call it "Battle Damage"

Hi Toshi, I am so glad to hear from you and that you are doing fine.

I regards to that Testors Corsair, did you test fit the fuselage sides to make sure one isn't larger than the other side?  I had three of these kits and all three had this issue.

Hello My friend. I'm so glad you are back, I was getting worried about you and the Missus. I pray that this year brings you and Mrs. Toshi much better health. No more scary stuff ! Just a personal note; I haven't had much time to do modeling but I still putter around with it some. I haven't even had the time (or knowledge ) to enable posting pics with this new computer I got so far. My Wife Barbara had cataract surgery on both eyes with great success. She sees so well now that I'm going to have her do most of my detail work for me LOL

I'm finally retired. Now time I got, money I don't.

So glad you're back Toshi!
Sorry to read of your seizure.  Hope your recovery is swift and problem free, and happy Ms. Toshi is doing better.

I'll be following, to what fun you and Ezra have with those kits.  Smile

Cheers,
Mark

Thank you everyone for the well wishes.  The Toshi’s greatly appreciated!  This shall be a new beginning for all FSM Forum members.

What‘s shocking for me is how a 2 1/2 year old boy can grasp something once and apply it while getting better.  A swear to you all, he gets my help and has broken a few things, but his ability to see through the issues is nothing short of amazing.

We are enjoying the build, and there were minimal seams.  Of which I took care of.  No he can’t use the AB without assistance, you’ll have a disaster!  Lol.  Thank you littletimmy for everything.

It’s my pleasure as well as Ezra’s!  He’s made great strides and learns very quickly.

Here is my grandson Ezra with his Corsair.  Yes, he picked that color as well. This Corsair is his first casualty.  I tried and tried in vain to no avail.  I had a good feeling about what was going to happen.

Yes, he plainly broke the landing gear.  It’s going to be shown in flight or I’ll rig up some stretched spruce.  We can only see!  Lol!

This is my first model kit made some three years ago.  I received this from MENTIS, a institue that helps people with TBI Traumatic Brain Injury.  I got this as a gift and on it went.

I know!!!  I was devastated.  But his smile and laughter put things into perspective.  He’s very excited about this build.  Thank you for your support Gamera, and yes, it’s good to be back this time with Ezra!

Much better for chaps like Ezra to build with all the prickley bits left off.  Less danger of breakage and no small parts to swallow.  Find him an old Testor's F2H Banshee, he'll love it.

Good to see you back, Toshi. Ezra's modeling skills are right up there. You're teaching him right. That Testors Corsair kit is a terrific build. Back in the day when Testors was Hawk, I built that kit from the XF4U-1 all the way to the AU-1.

Yes, you are so correct sir.  He’s always putting things in his mouth. Leaving off the bombs, drop tanks, and rockets, he can play with this kit at hearts content!  I will look into a F2H Banshee. Plus if I’m correct I already have this color as Vallejo Model Air.  Thank you for the visit jeaton01, I’m most honored.

It‘s good to be back fotofrank!  He’s an amazing little boy.  He absorbs information and applies these things very well for someone his age. I remember Hawk very much!  They were small little inexpensive kits.  Wow, I got to check that out as I’ve never built nor seen one in regards to the AU-1
