First of all, Happy Holidays to everyone!
I am working, slowly, on an SBD-2 from Accurate Miniatures. I'm trying to figure out a close match to the US Navy Blue Grey used around the time of the Battle of the Coral Sea, as I want to use the markings that have the meatball in the star and the stripes on the rudder. Anyone have any insight into which paint(s) would work?
Testors Model Master makes the proper color.
F is for FIRE, That burns down the whole town!
U is for URANIUM... BOMBS!
N is for NO SURVIVORS...

Ok excellent, I will check out my LHS and get some. For some reason I thought the Model Master stuff had been discontinued - I was probably getting it confused with something else entirely, thank you for the response.
The Model Master stock numbers are: enamel- 205545; acrylic- 4845. They are listed on their website... USN Blue Gray
Great, thank you for your help
You’re quite welcome. I’m looking forward to seeing your SBD here.
Hopefully I will have it finished soon :-)

Modeling is an excuse to buy books.
In the Tamiya line of paints they offer XF-82 which is virtually dead on as well. Just to give you another option of how to go about it.
