NEW !! 1/32 P-40F From Trumpeter
Posted by mic53mlb on Saturday, January 12, 2019 3:23 PM

Hey guys,

just got this with an email advertisement for latest releases from MegaHobby... a 1/32 scale P-40F. I had no idea this was in the works for Trumpeter of Curtiss' first P-40 with a Rolls Royce Merlin engine !! I almost bought it on the spot, however the $89.95 price tag made me hold up, I figured I'd check here to see what does everybody think or know ?? I have the old Ertl kit in 1/48, that I haven't built yet but wasn't thrilled with (needs work, got it on clearance). Let me know or better yet discuss amongst us for all of us.

I'm currently building a 1/32 P-40 from Eduard, and am very impressed with the quality and engineering of this kit.  You can get them for about $100 if you shop around, however, they are a "limited edition" and may be hard to find.

Better wait until you see some reviews, with Trumpeter you can always get a surprise.

this is the Hasegawa re-box correct?  Light years ahead of any Trumpeter kit. Trumpeter‘s first P-40 was a disaster, so I’m curious to see if this new kit is any better. Merlin powered P-40 kits in any scale are rare.

Oops- Please allow me to correct my original post-

I am building a P-47D, "Dottie Mae", 1/32 scale, (not P-40), kit made by Eduard, their item # is 11103.

The quality throughout this kit is state-of-the-art, rivalling Tamiya's best recent releases.  I don't think it is a re-box of anything.

Just wanted to let everyone know what a nice kit this is, and I highly recommend it!

Hi Chuck, pretty sure this kit is also a Hasegawa re-box, with some of Eduard‘s embellishments.
