Eduard formation lights question?

This is how they look in daylight when they are not powered up

This is what I ordered.  What I got didn't look anything like this. 

I want them to look like this as if they are on (yellow like the photo here). 

Painting the set I got,  would defeat spending the money to buy them to not have to paint them.

Best to do an online photo search of the a/c in question.

'Slime lights' are indeed a yellow color when illuminated, but in daylight they usually appear a sort of washed-out linen color...so a very pale tan wouldn't be out of order. Any darker than that, and I'd touch them up with a bit of paint.
