That cockpit is AWESOME!!

I built this same kit a couple of years back for the Monogram Mafia group build (I've since forgotten which Mafia Group Build number it was - maybe number 3, but it coulda been 4), and had lots of problems with the fit of the exhaust cone, and the intake. Be prepared for a lot of sanding in those areas, plus adding quite a bit of plastic sprue to widen the fuselage a bit to help make the exhaust cone fit. You'll see what I'm talking about once you test-fit everything.

Good Luck!!

Here is my work so far. I began by drilling out the kit guns and replacing them with steel tubing:

I then built the resin cockpit. I had a bit of trouble working with the resin, but I think that it came out well:

For comparison here is the kit seat:

I will post more when I get the pit painted up, I am currently waiting for my airbrush to arrive.

Very nice! I love the Hun. I see the cockpit is for the “c” version. There are some differences in case you didn’t know.

I am doing a WIP of a Monogram 1/48 F-100 that I picked up at a yard sale a while back. Although it came with an Aires resin cockpit, there were no decals. That was solved by Silver who kindly sent me a set of AeroMaster decals. This will be my first modern jet, my first time using resin, my first a/c with gear down. and my first build using Alclad.
