Looking for replacement part for old Monogram Devastator TBD-1
Posted by Irish3335 on Friday, February 22, 2019 10:25 PM

Hi all,

just picked up the oldie but still a goodie Monogram Devastator for a real steal.  Box was beat up, held together with rubber bands and crushed from being shoved somewhere.  Believe it or not all the parts were there EXCEPT for one - rear stabilizer;  the one part I can’t easily replicate.  Because of all the changes / buy outs / closing of Monogram/Revell how can I get a replacement part?  Or am I just going to have to pick up another kit and part it out?  Thanks for help

Heck I built that kit then it fell off the shelf and got wrecked. I’m sure the stabs are still ok. Wonder if you can cut them off the model and re-glue them on yours? They would even be already painted.

I think it would not be hard to make it.

Modeling is an excuse to buy books.

I, too, have a much damaged copy of that kit.  I'll see if I can get the stabilizers off.

I build 1/48 scale WW2 fighters.

Have fun.

The tail is undamaged. I could just send what’s left of the whole model to you, and it would be up to you to get the stabs off.
