It was a Helicopters for Industry kit that Aurora inherited.
Nice job, Grant, and well presented. I had the chance to ride in the H-21 when I was in Army Helicopter Maintenance school but there was something about it that just put me off. I do remember that they had an R-1820 with a two stage supercharger that had the high side disabled because of reliability issues. Whatever, the Huey was just a lot more interesting to me in those days so I hitched along in those every chance I got.

Super job. I saw a few of those in Nam painted OD, but never got to ride in one. Didn't Aroura do one of those WAY back in the 1950s? Anyone!!

That's a super well done model, great job. I had about a thirty minute ride in one of them, with the engine being rear mounted and the forward rotor being driven by I guess either a shaft or chain, there were some serious noises eminating from the overhead area.
Not my most enjoyable helicopter experience. Thanks for the post and photos Grant, very nicely finished model.

Great looking model, especially the wear & tear, and a very nice display base.
Very nicely done! The American Helicopter Museum by us has one on display in Army colors, and one in storage.
My dad's first and I think only helicopter ride was in an H-21. He got very nervous watching the bad oil canning of the fuselage caused by the tandom rotors and refused to ride in a helicopter again...
Looks great! That AF livery sure is more attractive than Army one.

I really like that! It was our main battle helicopter in Vietnam until late 65. The model is surprisingly small.
There's one that flies around CA, had the pleasure to see that.

Painted with AK Xtreme metals, Vallejo metal colours, Gunze, Tamiya and Vallejo acrylics, Abteilung smoke colour oil paint, Gunze and Tamiya acrylic and lacquer glosses (whatever I grabbed when doing gloss coats)
This kit (or my kit), has bad panel line alignment on the fuselage halves, so I had to fill a lot of them in and re-scribe to make them line up. Not the easiest kit, but happy how it turned out.
