I really enjoy building "odd" aircraft models (XP-75, B-10, P-35, P-36, etc.) so I'm usually dealing with short or limited run kits. I recently picked up Czech Models XP-55 Ascender off of Ebay. It's an interesting little kit, unfortunately it's missing the vacuum formed canopy! The model was sealed when I recieved it, so evidently I got a factory error. Scouring the inter-web, it appears Czech Models is no longer around and hasn't been for a few years. Squadron carried Czech Models in the past, but they were unable to help me. So it appears I need to build a canopy from scratch. I've thought of building the canopy frame out of strips and then in-filling the windows with clear "something or other", but that is waaay beyond my skill level! I guess I could buy another kit, but that seems like a waste of money just for a canopy. I'm open to any and all suggestions!
