Contrail did a 1/72nd vac kit.
The Williams Brothers kit has the Flying Tigers decals. I'm planning to do mine in Braniff colors though. On my Platz 1/144 kit I sourced some 3-blade props from the Roden 1/144 VC-118 kit and will pick some airline scheme for it.

I remember Flying Tigers Air Freight. Their facility at LAX was right next to TWA. My dad worked for TWA, so I was a regular there as a kid, and saw the Flying Tigers facility every time that I was there.

My Dad worked at SFO Maintenance as a manager for UAL. The "Flying Kitty Cats" had a maintenance agreement with UAL, which was second to none, maybe TWA was the same.
I think through almost all of the '50s Flying Tiger was the first carrier of choice for air cargo esp. in the East.
Another paint job for a C-46, and I agree we've hiway robbed this thread but it's gonna happen with us prop generation babies; is Air America.
The airplane was a tough bird. Flying the Hump.

I never met Norm but I have read up on him and he was emblematic of other USAAC and ATC people I have known. I worked for a while with Williams Bros to include that ATC badge, no luck although they were nice people.
The Williams Bros kit is not that bad. I have seen several great build ups of it. Mine fell off a shelf and I had to trash it. Sure would like to find another- I don't think that one has been repopped by the new WB.
