I'm working on a Kinetic E-2C Hawkeye and I too have had fit issues that were substantial and required significant effort to correct. No missing parts, but I've heard alot that this is a trend with Kinetic kits, which is too bad as the detail is very good. If I do another Kinetic kit I will go into it with the expectation of having my hands full.

Your kit turned out fantastic and it is a true testament to your skills that it looks that way. Well done.

Grant - I see nothing that would indicate there were fit problems or bad parts, just a very nicely turned out model.

Missing sprues? That's bad enough, but to tell the customer they'll get back to you and then don't? No excuse for that, best way to alienate customers and drive them to another source.

Glad to see that you got it finished despite problems, thanks for the post and photos.

Buyer beware, if you are going to buy a Kinetic F-16 kit be prepared for a challenge, bad fitting parts and have plenty of filler handy. This particular boxing was missing a couple of sprues that I needed parts from, I contacted Kinetic, they told me they would get back to me but never did. So not real impressed with Kinetic.

Finally finished! If you have not seen the build thread, this is a real pig of a kit, and for those who followed the build, no, Kinetic did not reply to me about the missing sprues, pretty disappointing really, especially the amount of kits I have bought of theirs.

Camo grey colours are MRP, Red is Tamiya XF-7. Other paints used, the usual suspects, Tamiya, Gunze and Vallejo acrylics, Gunze buffable dark iron for engine nozzle. White oil paint dry brushed inside engine, Flory dark dirt wash (really just for panel line wash). Plenty of coats of Gunze Gloss Super Clear III along the way. Decals are Cartograf and performed well. Final coat is Gunze gloss super clear with a bit of Tamiya semi gloss clear mixed in.

I only enjoyed this build once I got to painting stage and onwards, it really was a shocking kit to build.

The base is from Coastal Kits
