Accurate Miniatures TBF-1C Instruction Booklet
Posted by ACMierzeje on Wednesday, June 12, 2019 9:26 PM

I am looking for the instructions for the Accurate Miniatures 1/48 TBF-1C Avenger, "Truk Lagoon Raid," kit number 3405.   I have been unable to find a copy on line, including on the website that is selling off AM's remaining inventory.  I would be happy with copies of just the pages that show decal placement and the drawings for painting the camouflage scheme.

Thank you in advance.

The camouflage scheme will be the standard USN Tri Color scheme of that era. The pattern can be found on various websites. Worst case, you can use the box art as a guide for most of the decals, with the exception of the stencils.

F is for FIRE, That burns down the whole town!

U is for URANIUM... BOMBS!

N is for NO SURVIVORS...

I have all the Accurate Miniatures 1/48 TBF/TAM build files posted in 2005 downloaded and converted into PDF. Total file size is well over 10MB, may be about 15-16. I can send you the whole package in compressed format. PM me your email address if interested. I can do it sometime next week.

For the TBF-1C, you may find the review by C. Wayne Sharp very helpful.

No, I have not built my Accurate Miniatures 1/48 TBF/TAM YET!

.....the website that is selling off AM's remaining inventory.

Sorry I cannot help with your question, but I wonder if you might be able to advise which website is this?

TIA

Thanks to all of you for your help.  The very informative Scalemates site offers only TBM-3 instructions.  They are helpful for stencil placement.  I printed their reproduction of the box-top of the TBF-1c Truk Lagoon Raid (3405) to get an idea of marking placement as well as a photo of a build that I found here on the Fine Scale Modeler site.  The box-top shows a right rear quarter view while the build photo shows a left front quarter view.  Taken tegether, they provide a good idea of where the markings, especially the aircraft number, should be placed.

If anyone finds the instructions on line or can provide copies of the markings pages from the Accurate Miniatures instructions, please let me know.  In the meantime, I will check references for more information.

Thanks again to everyone.
