I am building an original release Monogram C-47 that came molded in olive green plastic. Due to its size, I decided to build her wheels up and hang from my workshop ceiling alongside other Monogram biggies. The kit is not intended to be built wheels up, but I figured a little plasti-surgery would fix that. So after I cut the main strut to determine how to test fit it with the wheel into the wheel well, keeping in mind that the tire hangs outside by about a third of the tire, I noted that the Y-shaped strut support piece seems to be the best bet at actually attaching the gear to look reasonably well.
As luck would have it, I dropped that Y-shaped part. I do not have carpet in my work shop. I have an anti-fatigue mat over the bare concrete floor. Typically parts just fall somewhere near my feet when I am at my bench, but in this case it is as if Thanos snapped 50% of my Y-shaped strut supports out of existence. I have looked all around my bench. I even took the plywood shelving off the lower level of my bench (when I built it, I didn't rip the two pieces of plywood exactly straight, resulting in a gap that has always worried me for parts loss, but the strut support did not manage to fall into that gap.)
The kit is not listed on Revell's site, given the bankruptcy, so I am probably out of luck for just being able to get them to send me a new part. I will continue looking for the part, but longshot question - anyone have a trashed build of this kit with those strut part they would be willing to part with? I'd certainly be happy to pay for it, shipping it, etc, if by chance someone has it.
