Noice!
I need to get me one of these. I haven't done one since I was a teen.
I've got a few -D's, but no -B's.
Well done, Bob! I also like how that spinner turned out.

Great job on that bird! I would be pretty happy to have that on my display shelf. The spinner really came out well.
Dwayne or Dman or just D. All comments are welcome on my builds.
On my bench: Academy 1/35 UH-60L Black Hawk
I'm finally retired. Now time I got, money I don't.
Very nicely done Sir!

Well Gee!
Another Monogram ( Original) bird. Luv what you've done. Keep up the good work . T.B.
Nice finish, Bob. She looks good.
Say, getting back to those invasion stripes for a minute, I also thought invasion stipes were on bottom surfaces only. A Google search returned several photos showing quite the opposite.
Surprised me.
Love your work! Very nice. And I have to add how cool are invasion stripes!

Here are the finished pics. Overall a nice kit, I didn't really have any issues that weren't of my own making. I raided a Hasegawa kit for the bombs. Any comments/cirtiques are welcome.
Looking great, a hell of a lot better than I did at 10yrs old in '82, I like what you're doing !! Keep up the good work !!.
Your colors look great, Bob, nice progress!
The bigger the government, the smaller the citizen.
It's going to be nice, I can tell.

Looking good, Bob.
That's some pretty intricate painting, orange and red, on the spinner and behind.
There’s a soft spot in my heart for these vintage classics.

At the plate: 1/48 Airfix Bf109 & 1/35 Tamiya Famo
On deck: Who knows!
It was pointed out to me that if the invasion stripes weren't on the top of the fuselage, then they shouldn't be on the top wings either. I spent some time fixing that before decals and panel line wash. Some of the decals gave me some trouble, especially the checkerboard around the nose and "Pappy's Answer" which shattered on the model. A bit of patience got most of it back together and I painted what couldn't be repaired.
So I got quite a bit of painting done before the new school year starts. The masking for the invasion stripes isn't perfect, but I like the way it looks since they weren't perfect in 1944 either
The spinner gave me a little trouble at first, but I think the second attempt looks all right to me
Thanks guys!
Most of the main assembly is done. Now on to paint

I agree
I'm a big fan and Monogram Mafioso myself. Monogram kits make up a pretty sizeable portion of the stash.
So I got the fuselage together:

Next up is the wings. The ports for the machine guns are just holes so I figure I need to put something in there. At first I thought I could use some sprue and drill some holes in the ends, but the sprues were too thick. Then I remembered I had some spare flash supressors from a Monogram P-38.

Looks good enough to me

silentbob33 the Baron You've got a great start there on that classic Monogram kit! It still holds up well, around 50 years after it was first issued. It's one of my favorites. I should have known it was a Monogram kit! It looks really nice in the box and I love Monogram kits

For my next build I'll be tackling Revell's 1/48 P-51B. I'll be doing the markings of "Pappy's Answer" of the 364th FS, 357th FG.

So far I've finished up the cockpit. A little basic, but still detailed enough for me. It's all OOB except for some PE belts.
