Monogram 1/48 P-39 Airacobra

I've also built a couple of those and agree, it's a great kit.  I found that a 1/2" chunk from the end of a wheel weight fit nicely in the weapons bay.  Of course, you can't pose the hatch open then, though.

There's something about the shape of the airacobra that gets me.  To me it just looks so sleek, like a little sports car.

I did this one a few times when I was a kid, and then again a couple years ago (when I built that one alongside an Accurate Miniatures P-400 Airacobra, an Eduard P-39Q Airacobra, and a Revell 1/32 P-39D Airacobra.  This old Monogram held up pretty well against those others, with the only shortcoming I encountered being that I could not get enough weight in the very limited space available in the nose to keep her on the tricycle gear.
