FOD covers
Posted by Bones-coa on Thursday, April 8, 2004 6:36 PM
Modelers, how about some ideas for making FOD covers? I need a set for an F/A-18. Both exhuast and intake. I assume the exhuast covers are plastic and can maybe be made out of red or painted tape. The intake covers are hard plastic (I think) and I'm not sure how to tackle those. Am I right with any of these?

Ideas? Big Smile [:D]

I've read somewhere about making them out of tissue paper soaked in diluted white glue. But that would be more for an aircraft like the F-14, S-3, etc, that used cloth-type covers. Things like the C-130, F-100, etc, that used solid covers, could have their covers made from sheet plastic. Just guessing, as I have never actually made any.
