Hi!
Just a question here. Everyone has their favorite plane, I think. When it comes to foiling. Whether you make your own foil or use Bare Metal Foil. What is your absolute favorite plane to foil and what scale? Mine was, Is, and always will be these two. Their both Monogram kits too. The F-100 "Century Series" and the P-47 " Bubbletop " Jug". A close second is Monogram's P-38.
Why, I really don't know. But, it seems like they really wow the folks who view them, even rivet counters! The original " Hun" had Cal Air Guard markings and boy, with metal skin she really was a colorful Bird. What's your favorite?
I foiled the Mono P-47 bubbletop a few years ago for one of the Mafia GBs. Used household foil and the technique described in a FSM article from 1989. Also did Monogram P-51D way back in the early 90s and the aluminum is still adhered.

I am a nutball for Bare Metal Foil. My three favorite foiled builds are: Revellogram 1/48 B-29, B-24 and B-58; and HobbyBoss 1/48 P-38.
Your comments and questions are always welcome.
I have not used foil since I learned tricks for altering shades of panels with Alclad and other metalizers.

Ditto Alclads and Metalizer. In the old days Pactra aluminum, Rub-n-Buff, Humbrol Aluminum, Revell aluminum, and Floquil silver and/or aluminum. Bare Metal Foil is OK but is tedious to work with.

The neatest bm finish I remember was a Lockheed F-104 by Hawk in the 70s. It was aluminized in the box and turned out well. I sure wish I could find one today. With the metallizers available today and a Molotow pen, I think I could do a great job today with it.
