The -73 is listed as a short nose model on the Wiki entry.  Look on the list for a model used in other aircraft and check the ones available.  Many of the different models were due to internal mods which can't be seen.  Wiki and Google Images, or others, is your friend.

Thanks Rich. I've been advised at a couple of other forums that the -73 is also known as a -F,  and that CMK version looks like one of these so now I'm on the hunt for one Wink if anyone has one going spare and is feeling generous please send me a PM!

1/48 Allison V-1710 question
Posted by ZYates87 on Saturday, February 1, 2020 1:55 PM

Hi team,

I'm planning a future P-40K-5 build to feature an exposed/cowls-off engine and I've learned the subject aircraft had a -73 engine.

So the question is: which 1/48 V-1710 is the best choice to represent this variant/sub-model? Scalemates lists nine options, are any of those suitable or is anything more accurate out there? Failing that, what's the closest to a -73?

Thanks in advance! Cool

All my best,
