instruction sheet needed...for 1998 revell-monogram kit
Posted by merf on Wednesday, February 12, 2020 7:15 PM

Just joined the London ontario IPMS last week..thinking about it for years, finally did it, hope I have the discipline to create quality work, or at least acceptable things.Bought a revell-monogram p38 lightning, 1/48 scale, model no. 85-5479, years ago at a garage sale, unstarted,I am pretty sure it is all there, box info shows 1998 release..not the most detailed p-38 on the planet, but looks like with a little TLC it will be acceptable.....problem is, instruction sheet is not there, and there are 118 pieces in the kit most of which are obvious to fit, but it has parts included for 3 different versions, which means I should have some documentation to do it up right.

So does anyone have this instruction sheet, and if so, could it be photocopied or scanned and emailed??

Would be glad to cover any costs incurred, I thank you for your interest,

Merf

Merf-I think this may be what you're looking for?

Be patient with the build-this kit can be challanging but makes a nice P-38.

Ah, the venerable Monogram P-38!  That kit is as old as I am (b 1964), and it's not as bad to build as many will say it is.  I look forward to seeing your build!

You're welcome-hope to see your work in progress....and be thinking where you are going to put the weight-the nose is a little crowded with the machine guns...I think I put/epoxied some old lead tire weights in the engine nacelles.  It was one of the first kits I built when I retured to the hobby.

Agree with what Bob said about the weight. P-38s sit a little tail low anyway so it's really a fine balance.  I just finished two of these Monogram Monsters in the M and F5 recon variants and I have a J about halfway through.  Pics of them are in the shelf of doom group build page if you want to see finished products.

Good luck with the build!!
