Airfix 1/48 "Dog fight double"
Posted by cnq on Sunday, February 23, 2020 8:23 AM

Just completed my 1st Spitfire & BF109 in dogfight mode Smile

Airfix does not supply decal for "swastica" which is very disappointed.

Anyway hope you like the pics

Nice work.

Airfix does not include the Swastika since they sell in Germany, where the Swastika is prohibited in any form by law.  But there are aftermarket decal sheets available, and some times these manufacturers will include the Swastika in pieces that the modeler has to "assemble" onto their builds.

Thank you friends. I will have to source for a swastica to make the bf109 complete. I have some spares but they are all too large for it.

I boought an aftermarket 109 decal set to get the swastikas.

Some manufacturers provide a "cut up" swastika on the decal sheet.  Other provide a "cut up" and a full swastika in an easily cut off corner of the decal sheet.  I know Eduard does this for sure, but I can't recall others right now.  You could enjoy building one of those kits and use the extra for your Airfix kit.

I build 1/48 scale WW2 fighters.

Have fun.

Beautifully done. I love the stand! Takes me back a long time ago, a very long time...
