Found a box of old stuff in the Storage shed under a bunch of car parts. Some Snark Missiles and some other type of Sc-Fi Missile types. Hmmm------ I think the Snarks and Bomarks could be fighter planes, maybe!
Well, now let's see. Take two of the Nike Ajax missiles and put a cockpit between them like a real Kick Butt P-38, I guess you would or could call it a P-76? Let's see, there's a couple of Mig and Sabre cockpits too. They look like Monogram's stuff.
What I used to do, both when I was a kid moving around with the fishing family and then the Armed Services was take the mediocre and bad models and cut them apart and put them away until I wanted to use them for something.
The wings work great fo fin era autos too. I have used jet cockpits for racing boats in which the main body was an aircraft! Then the landing gears. Hmmmm---- Remember the U.S.Army Goat? A flat platform machine for moving troops ( A Few) and supplies. Well, bomber gear works great for a semi decent looking one. Just to use up the supplies. That's how I wound up with a Patton tank outfitted for moon Exploration!
