Why not buy your own R-2800 and take the measurements?

what better motivation than 1:1 next to the desk?

I have the R2800 book, thumbed through it.  Excellent pics and drawings but, no luck on any usable measurements.

Look for a group that collects and runs the things. I did that for my Isotta- Fraschini W engine. With a little luck, someone might be able to help you.

 Maybe these folks.

Good luck!

R-2800 Engine
Posted by Don Stauffer on Friday, May 8, 2020 1:58 PM

I love to build aircraft engine models, large scale, like the 1:8 scale radials that Williams Bros did.  But they never did my favorite, the R-2800.  I don't mind scratch building- I have made several scratch engine models.  But I do need scale drawings.  I have been unable to find R-2800 drawings, however.  Anyone have any idea on where I could find them?
