Haven't seen any dark areas but am becoming quite annoyed with all of the pop up adds. I realize that FSM needs money but really. Annoy us with all of the pop ups?

I'm getting pop up ad to join a Korean War building contest every time I log on. It is defeating my adblocker which is unusual. It is persistant and annoying. And by persistent I mean every single login for several days now.

I wonder if that is what you are seeing.

BTW, I don't see a close button either, but if you click anywhere the popup isn't, it goes away.

I have not expierienced that one,but I believe the pop ups are Google,not the site,they pop up whatever site I'm on.For example I get local ads that have nothing to do with the sites I'm on including FSM

For example,right now I have a pop up for Prestige Subaru in Asheville,I dont think they signed up with FSM

The "x" to turn off the Korean Contest ad is just outside the upper right hand corner. It's difficult to see, especially if there's a dark area underneath. Fortunately a tap anywhere near it makes the ad go away. The popups at the bottom are another story - very annoying!

I believe that the pop-up ads appear because FineScale/Kalmbach wants them to appear. They are a source of revenue the company. My son's commercial website used to have pop-up ads (his choice) but he found them so irritating that he got rid of them.

How odd.  Mind, I am set to stay logged in, so I don't see the login process anymore.

Have seen the additional ads popped up at both bottom side, and banner--all despite ad blocker being in place.

I have no gray screen and no ads at the bottom of my page. However, I do get the Korean pop up ad. I click anywhere on my screen and it gies away. I still do not get email notifications.

Dang pop-ups cause me to stay away as much as possible.  I dread fighting them.

You are right, I was wrong. I logged in from my desktop with the big display the other day  and finally saw the close button. Then, knowing what to look for, found it on my laptop.

Sort of like Where's Waldo but sneakier.

I had to switch blockers. The original one I tried blocked notifications from my printer/ scanner.

Hi Space Ranger!

   I run two Different Ad Blockers on my "Puter. The darned things get around them anyway. Not as bad, But, still they pay people to defeat the Blockers on Public sites anyway. I try not to let it bother me anymore and just hit delete!
