Sorry, I missed this.

Early '60s, bare aluminum for the major finish?

Are you building the old 1/48 Monogram A-37? I started that kit decades ago and never finished it.

I found the patch I was looking for! It's the the orange "John Black" T-37 flight patch.

The boarding ladder needs to be painted olive green.

Love it!

I am working on the T-37 kit.Actually I am using the A-37 kit, and scratched a new tailpipe and eliminated weaons mounts and some of the antennas.

I intend to finish in the scheme from the early 60s at Reese.  That requires flourescent red.  I have a really old bottle of the needed paint.  Hope it still works.

Great ideas.

I originally had the T-38 with both canopy's open, but I decided to go with the solo look.

I remember the boarding ladder being white, but that was a long time ago. I'll dig out my photo's and check. I also have the wheel chocks, I just forgot them. Thanks.

I like your idea about putting the 38 at an angle! I think I made diorama novice mistake by making everything square. If I had angles the ramp lines and the taxi lines I think it would have given the scene more "life". It should not be too hard to re-work the ramp.

Thanks again!

And here I was thinking that it’s Luke....  (the Saguaros...)

Just a suggestion, but angle the T-38 nose towards the lower right corner, away from the T-37 passing behind... and yes, maybe a portable light stand to the left, between the two aircraft.

I’d also suggest the rear canopy open as well, and the boarding ladder in yellow.... with some apparent wear... and probably some wheel chocks.

F is for FIRE, That burns down the whole town!

U is for URANIUM... BOMBS!

N is for NO SURVIVORS...

USAF Pilot training build "Early Week"

I'm working on this for my my Military Trainer group build.

I'm calling it "Early Week"

I'm mostly done with it. I'm missing one patch and need to come up a natural separation between the 2 background photos. Maybe a light pole?

The ramp is a bit too neat and clean for real life.

The T-37 is the 1/72 Hasegawa kit

The T-38 is the 1/48 Trumpeter kit

The ground equipment is the 1/48 Haswgawa kit.

The ramp is foam filled poster board.

I tried for a bit of forced perspective, it sort of works. The T-37 is on a FlightPose stand.

It looks better in real life than in the photo.

The scene is supposed to represent Williams AFB in Arizona during the mid '80s.
