This kit is by Gavia, 2001, I get what Eduard are doing, an important aircraft from WWII that is overlooked in 1/48 scale. Well this must be the best they had to choose from. The kit is very ordinary, like early Special Hobby, soft plastic, poor details. The canopy area is awful, the sides have a huge curve that bows right out and will not fit to the fuselage. I ended up cutting them in sections to get a better fit. The wings plug in to the cockpit framing above the glass work, very awkward, but that is the design of the actual aircraft. The saving grace of the kit is the Eduard AM PE, resin and mask set. Hindsight is a wonderful thing in this hobby, and if I knew what is was going to be like, I would have passed on this kit, (and silly me, I bought 2!). It turned out alright, but be prepared for a lot of work and heaps of tiny fiddly PE.

Camouflage was a mix of different brands I had to make up call out colours, Tamiya, SMS and Mission Models. I gave it a Flory dark dirty wash, final coat was Mr. Color Flat Clear.
I am still getting used to the Eduard printed decals, they are nice and thin, but they lift almost immediately when put in water, and they like curling up on themselves.

Very nice work on a kit with some tricky assembly.

Awesome build. This thing looks like it has a massive glide ratio. It almost looks like an Alaskan bush plane. Very cool.
