Justin this is both beautiful and fun! =] Well weathered for a navy bird too. Very impressive. Brave to try the asymmetrical mounting. I think here in this scene it works. Good for you.

Thanks for sharing.

Thanks!  The whole 'asymmetrical mounting' came from having an idea in my head, but not alot of display space!  Lol!

When planning this one out, I found myself falling down a rabbit hole of youtube videos of carrier deck operations, from launch to recovery of the aircraft, including  several creatively edited videos showing the "shooters" dancing to 'Gangnam Style' while performing their duties! (Although, admittedly, it might have been the same video, just watched more than once.....)

Here is another one I've been working on the past few weeks.  I've had the kit in my stash for a while, just waiting for the inspiration to strike...and out of the night, like a snakeeye to the brain, I came across a photo on Reddit, showing an A6 from VA196 getting loaded up onto the cat the morning after the failed attempt at rescuing our hostages in Iran in the spring of 1980.

Using the old Revell/Hasegawa kit and a couple figures from the fujimi 1/72 carrier deck crew set, I recreated the scene:

Note the wing ID stripes, used to prevent friendly fire attacks.
