Flown by Ofw. Arnold Doring, 2./JG 300, Bonn-Hangelar, Germany, 1943
This is the new dual kit Wilde Sau, (Wild Boar), boxing. There are some stunning schemes to choose from, this one really caught my eye with the randomness of the black mottling on the upper fuselage and wings. This unit was created to fly by sight, no radar, using the light of target indicators, massed search lights and fires on the ground to spot bombers.
As is the normal with Ltd Edition, you get PE, resin wheels, mask set and decals for 10 schemes.
Camouflage is painted with AK Real Color and Tamiya Nato Black for the underside and mottling over national insignia. I post shaded Tamiya flat black over panel lines and rivet lines over the Nato Black to give a subtle difference. I also used Mr. Hobby, Vallejo Metal Color, Flory Brown wash. Final coat was Mr. Color Flat Clear.
My kit had faults with both spinners, (short shots), so Iused one from another Bf 109G kit I have in the stash, but Eduard are sending me replacements. Still getting used to Eduard's decals, and am now using Agama Hypersol to set them. I've heard about them being able to lift off the carrier film off them after they set, but I don't know abut that, if that was how they were made, than Eduard would tell you I think. So I'll stick to the traditional method.
