Looking for scale model gliders
Posted by Anonymous on Friday, March 28, 2003 5:17 AM
Can anyone help.. I have a collection of 1:72 scale gliders (Sailpanes) from Poland (PZW?) and resin Blanik, but the most modern one is a SZD-41 Jantar. I'm looking for any scale, injection moulded or resin Glider kits of more modern gliders.

Particularly looking to build ASW 20, ASH25, Grob 103 Twin trainer (1/48 or larger)

Thanks

Hi Kiwi - as I remember, there were few glider models in my "friendly" model-shop, but I have to check it - I think, there were few injection molded models as well as resin ones. If you do want to know it - I will try to ask for you - perhaps (I'm not sure) they could sell them by sending them via post. Alex

For a second there I thought maybe I could help you kiwi but, the glider kits you list are the ones I have. Flying sailplanes is one of my many hobbies.
I have seen balsa kits by Sterling of a Standard Cirrus and, a Schweitzer 2-32.
both have wingspans of about 1 meter.
BTW The Grob G-103 ACRO was the first glass ship I ever flew. I started in a 2-33, moved on to the 1-26, the ASK-21, and the Pilatus PC-11B4

Thanks for replying anyway guys. Might have to carve my own and cast them in resin! I'll keep searching.
I have over 900 hrs Gliding, Gold C and 2 Diamonds (Height and distance to goal) Still instructing in G-103 Acro (we purchased it from the US 15 yrs ago), Janus Ce and Twin II. Try to still get into the single seat LS4b as much as possible. Thanks again
