1/48 Eduard Spitfire Mk.IXe - 105th Tajeset, Ramat David Air Base, Israel, September 1953
This is Eduard's "Velveta" Spitfire for Israel limited edition kit. Their Spitfires are really fantastic to build, really enjoyed this one, I love the sand and blue camouflage, and it is different seeing a Spitfire with Israeli markings.
The decals were a bit funny, the protective paper was stuck in some areas, and I lost a few stencil data decals as they peeled off with the paper, and the backing paper was white and splotchy in areas, (this is where decals would not lift off after soaking and I had to use a blade to carefully lift them off. They performed well though once on the model. I used Agama Hypersol to set them. I have had the kit a couple of years, I shouldn't think that is old for decals, the kit has never been stored in direct sunlight or anything that would contribute to there state.
Camouflage is an AK Real Color Israeli set, as usual, this paint is fantastic to work with. Also used Tamiya, Mr.Hobby, Vallejo metal color, Flory dark dirt wash and some oil paint. Final coat was Mr.Color flat clear.
