Update time!
My decals finally arrived, and I was able to get some bench time yesterday evening. Finally. I marked this 262 as the mount of Lt Franz Schall's Red 1, Staffelkapitan 10./JG7, in 1945:
a little bourbon, some masking and airbrushing, and we are set for decal application:
and this morning, I applied the decals and satin coated the airframe. I will let it sit, probably until next weekend before I start weathering lightly...
to weigh down the nose, I highly recommend tungsten putty! You can typically find it in the pinewood derby section of your local hobbyist! Its really dense stuff!
"...failure to do anything because someone else can do better makes us rather dull and lazy..."
Mortal as I am,I know that I am born for a day. But when I follow at my pleasure the serried multitude of the stars in their circular course, my feet no longer touch the Earth...
Mopar Madness Lovely job on that pilot!
Lovely job on that pilot!
thanks! I've become quite interested in figures as of late...

At the plate: 1/48 Airfix Bf109 & 1/35 Tamiya Famo
On deck: Who knows!
the Baron It just occurred to me-did the ProModeler boxing eliminate the two figures that were originally part of the kit? There was a pilot standing on the ground, as I recall, and holding his parachute in one hand, and a ground crewman polishing the canopy with a rag. Not that that means you'd have to use them, but I'm just curious about the difference between the two releases.

It did come with those figures too...When I got this guy, I was looking for a pose different from the standard standing pose...
The bigger the government, the smaller the citizen.
Nice, Justin!
Made a little more progress on the pilot for the ME262. Just a little more work and a flat coat, and I'll call him finished...
Tosh Very nice and extremely wonderful WIP! I really like your color variations as I still struggle with this. As for the 262, it's one of my favorite aircraft to build! Your friend's, Toshi & Ezra

the Baron Great project, and nice progress, Justin! I like the mottling technique. That's a great figure, too. I've got that one and a couple others from Djiti-maybe from the same eBay source! They've got nice, crisp detail.

I did squeeze in a little bench time last night, while my wife and son were at confirmation practice, until I was unhappy with my brushes. I did get his face painted. My cheap brushes dont have anything "professional" left in them. I have some new brushed on order, so I will continue once they arrive...
Finally got some bench time, and got the fueslage primed, based in black, and the first two colors applied!
While waiting to get back to the bench, I ordered this guy...
and got started with the 'Zenithal Highlights'
and then started with the second color
it may be another two weeks before I get back to the bench, as I really only hit the bench on the weekends, and I have a Cubscout campoing trip this up coming weekend, so that will cause some delay...
Mopar Madness It's always a nice surprise when you open up the box and find some extra goodies!

It sure is! The next trick is to figure out how to work with the photoetch with these gisn't sausage fingers!
That's some mighty quick work there! Looks great so far!

This is my first one, and I'm having fun so far!
Oh My;
between Hase, and Lindberg and Tammy and Revell, Plus others I have built nine so far. I luv dis boidy! Oh, even as small as 1/144!
I picked this old kit up a few years back from the 'bay....it was a pretty affordable price if I recall-I usually don't like to spend alot on kits-and when I opened it up, to my surprise, there was a photoetch kit from, Airwaves.
I decided to pull it down a couple weekends ago, and get started on it....
As usual, I started with the 'ppit:
and somehow, I neglected to take some photos of the finished cockpit!
Gun Bays and seamwork commenced:
And this is where I left off last night, awaiting a mask for the glass, and some primer to check that everything is straight and smooth:
Thanks for looking!
