I was thinking about this earlier;
We go through a lot of stuff over the years but there is always something that sticks in an inimitable way.In Modeling it can be the weirdest Plane we ever saw. Or it might the most awesomely gorgeous Fighter ever created. This goes back even to the Stick and Linen days of W.W.1
I have a few favorites among all these planes going back to the Spad. I thought it was a neato little airplane! Then I saw a De-Woitine.Yikes!
As the years progressed there were more of course.The F-86-D and the F100-D. the ones that have stuck since some time back were and are the "Mad Mosquitos" These would be by their small size and absulutely ridiculously max loadout for battle as the F-4-D "Skyhawk" and The G.R.7 "Harrier" V.T.O. Strike fighter.
Those two in 1/144 is what got them labeled forever in my mind as the aforementioned Insects.Thanks to my first wife! I painstakenly built these little beasts and sat them on top of the T.V. She then asked when I started building "Mad Mosquitos"
I have started two more all these years later in 1/72 O.O.B with Sanding out the rough spots on the Fuses and Wings being the only correctional work done to them. They will be painted with a Brush. Just as the two originals were. The Cockpits will be blacked out like desktop models.
