This Airfix kit was issued in 1956. My kit was from the 1987 boxing and had 1957 stamped on the inside of the fuselage. This little fighter fought me all the way, but it turned out OK. I painted it with Humbrol Met 11 silver which turned out to be perfect to simulate silver doped fabric. I used the original very old decals but the upper roundels wrinkled badly and I had to replace them with painted on roundels. I added ezLine rigging which was easier than I'd anticipated. Mine sits here on my desk waiting for Capt. McKeever and his Observer Powell to mount-up and chase some of the Kaiser's best out of the sky.
Very nice indeed - the rigging on a biplane really brings it to life. I built the Airfix "Brisfit" several times as a young lad - nothing like as good as this - seeing yours brings back happy memories of back-yard dogfights - thank you!
Vell, Zaphod's just zis guy, you know?
Looks awesome! I love it when these old kits come back to life.
