Possible Pilot DeviationThat's fair. Thank you for the information. I'm not going for complete accuracy here, so a little mis coloring here and there, if it looks decent, is fine by me.
I can certainly respect that! Carry on.

So far, really good!
The crow bar on the exit door is actually a raw steel color. They didn't start painting them red until after the war.
I had to be told this when I built my Spit and now I'm just passing it on.
Been busy this week, but found time to get a little work done on the cockpit and interior.
Painted most of the major pieces and did a little dry brushing on the interior frame. Once all this cures, I'm going to clear coat it and add a brown wash. Probably tomorrow or the next day. Then I'll go back over it with a dull coat.
Still waiting on some Eduard PE parts for the instrument panel and seatbelts. Should be here this weekend, maybe.
The kit is a Mk. Vb from Tamiya in 1/48. I think this one has been around for a while, so many of you may have already done one?
I bought some PE parts from Eduard. It comes with several pieces, but I really just want to replace the instrument panel and add seatbelts as I will not be including a pilot. To prep for those parts, I flattened the instrument panel using an Xacto to get rid of most of the raised bits then sanded it down.
Then I used Tamiya grey primer in a rattle can to prime as much of the interior as I could. I used some blue tack to cover the instrument panel since it doesn't need to be primed. Hopefully, if I am careful, it will peel away leaving just that part unprimed. Going to let this dry until tomorrow night when I will start doing a little painting.
Started a new Spitfire today. Going to try and document the build here. Would love to hear any feedback you might have as I proceed so I can keep improving my skills.
First, I set up a temporary workstation in my spare bedroom. I recently purchased the book in the photo, and it has a lot of great images for fine details. Not sure I have the skills to pull all those tiny details, but I'll give it a go.
