Thanks for the kind words. I agree with your statements regarding the wood grain effect. I think that in the smaller scales the actual grain would be almost imperceptable and I try to just 'suggest' it by putting a light and streaky oil paint wash over an acrylic buff base that is then top coated with airbrushed mixes of Tamiya acrylic colored clears. The model is actually weathered more heavily than it appears in the photos. I think the lighting conditions existing when I took the photos bleached out most of the weathering. The grass is from a commercially available grass mat that I cut to size
Beautifully rendered Rob. Everything looks top notch. I really enjoy the rigging and wood grain. It's easy to fall into the trap of working too hard and force a wood grain look. I think we all start out that way. Less is more most times even at 1:48. You've teased this out quite well. Very nice and a very clean and pretty build. Too clean for me lol. One day I'll set my sights on a clean one.
