Weird Bird for sure.
As I told you fellas and ladies;
I purchased a strange aircraft a short while back. Miniart's Focke-Wulf Treibflugel ( Can't do the umlat) Interceptor. Whatta weird creation. A RamJet powered What-If fighter. The RamJets power three blades of a Mid fuselage Rotary wing. The thing sits on five wheels. One each retracting and extending out of the cruciform tails. the fifth wheel, Much larger is in the center, surprisingly, even with a certain amount of flex of the outer gear, the model sits quite stable. Now. This kit has a decent office with P.E. But you cannot see most of it because of the shroud. But the Canopy(all three pieces) is molded beautifully and clear as you could ask for. Decent petite frame detail too!
I am sorry for the lack of photos, haven't solved the site issue yet. Photo-Hosting that is. Anyway. There are a few parts that will mystify a lot of purchasers. They start with Three cam heads,and Two rings. If you study them you'll decide that they are the equipment to make the bladed wings? to turn simultainously. I misplaced mine so I am finishing the assembly with Gators Grip white glue.
Why? Well I discovered the tolerances are so tight the cam plates kept twisting off. I dissassembled that feature so I could use small screws from an H.O.Scale repair kit for a Boxcar. Well, went to gather the pieces and I put them away so safely I can't find them. I figure when I finish the paint and decals that's when I'll find them. That's why the Gators-Grip. I can soften it after the fact, wash it off and install the pieces when I get it all together.
If you've thought about one, it is fun, the scale (1/35) is easy to work with and so with that I decided to do mine marked as an aircraft with the FighterTrainer Aviation school-Berlin-1945. They have it marked as the fifth pre-Production A/C- Remember this is a What -If ! It turns out I already have the right color for the Bird. A light Rust Red! Note: the Three Cam heads and the Rings are NOT shown on the instructions. I will bet a dollar to a donut, the company found about the problem and because of complaints from early buyers, didn't delete the parts just the point in the instructions where you would deal with them.
