Is the lime green used on USAF fire extinguishers an FS color?
Thanks!
I believe that's a oxygen tank

Do you mean the fire extinguishers they have on the flight line or something else?
"You can have my illegal fireworks when you pry them from my cold, dead fingers...which are...over there somewhere."
Flight line
PKP extinguishers are red with purple PKP stenciled on them, Halon bottles are bright yellow, CO2 are also red hoever have a whit stripe. Rarely will you see a pure water extinguisher as exotic metals, fuels, and oild usually react poorly especially while ablaze. Magnesium is a prime example. NEVER use salt water on LOX. Salt water may not be present on an AFB but ya never know.
Flight line bottles would most likely be the yellow Halon.
we're modelers it's what we do
armornut Flight line bottles would most likely be the yellow Halon.
And most manufacturers' catalogs simply list it as "lime yellow," without reference to an FS number or other color code.
(Rustoleum does a 'Key Lime' color that is a favored match among fire apparatus modelers.)

George Lewis:
Hasagawa has it at 40% H4, 55% H1, and 5% H80. The referances are for Gunze Sangyo paints.
You can also go with red, especially for Cold War era.
For the current Yellow, you may want to look at Testors square bottle Flourescent Yellow
F is for FIRE, That burns down the whole town!

How about this color?
It looks pretty close to the modern fire extinguisher color.

I thought I'd follow up on my own thread with what I came up with in case it can help someone else. Of course, the real life extinguisher colors vary from factory new to severly faded.
I ended up mixing a ratio of 10 drops Tamiya X-15 with 4 drops Tamiya X-2 and cutting it 50% with Tamiya lacquer thinner. Very close to the photos on the Amerex website.
After the fact, I saw a bottle of Testors Sublime Green at HL and checked it on a test peice. It's VERY close straight out of the bottle. If you prefer brush painting or enamels in general, that's another option.
