I found this in a Spokane antique store last week.
I think it's the original release from the late '50s but I'm not sure.
The kit is very basic, as would be expected.
It's an odd, early supersonic interceptor. Technology really wasn't really there yet.

Wow - real 50's futurism! I bet that'll look great when it's built (you might have bother with the markings, though).
Vell, Zaphod's just zis guy, you know?

Neato! The French made some truly bizarre prototypes in the 1950s. Mikro-Mir recently put out a 1/72 new tool kit of the Trident. I am hoping they do the Coleoptere and LeDuc ramjets. The LeDuc 022 was probably the most improbable looking jet aircraft to actually fly (successfully).
“Ya ya ya, unicorn papoi!”
I have a memory of seeing this built in a paper periodical in the 80s (which one is beyond my memory).
Checking Scalemates: https://www.scalemates.com/kits/heller-105-sncaso-so-9000-01-trident-1--144077
The original 1/50 Heller kit dates to 1958, which is 5-6 years' earlier than I was guessing.
Will be cool to see it built.

Yah, the decals are in bad shape.
I did not know Mikro-Mir made a modern kit!
It would be nice to compare them.
Kits of the LeDuc and Coleopter would be nice.
When I build it I'll post a build thread.
If the decals have yellowed, tape them to a window that gets a lot of sun. Might take a couple of days but the yellow disappears. Done it a few times.
If they look like they are going to crack, Testors makes a spray for just that purpose. Works about 1/2 of the time.
Hope that this helps.

I keep hitting "escape", but I'm still here.
BTW a long time ago, a friend snagged me a Heller Coleoptere for a song. I think it is allegedly 1/40 or 1/50, or something like that. It is super crude, but I have seen great looking builds done by obviously talented modelers.
I look forward to seeing your Trident build!
Heller had a bunch of early French jets- the Ourragon, Mystere, Fouga Magister.
Helicopters; Super Frelon.
Prop hauler; Transall.
Any one interested in the 6 Day War wants to have a stash of those things.

Modeling is an excuse to buy books.
I don't believe there are modern 1/48 kits of the Ouragan or Mystere. No modern (easy) to build Vautour either. The Vautour was an odd beast - kind of like a love child from an XB-51 and a Yak-28!
You should upload the instruction sheets to scale mates web site. In case someone obtains an old kit without instructions.
Thanks for all the ideas!
If Scalemates needs them, I'll upload them.
I have some micro scale decal liquid I was planing on brushing on the decals after sun bleaching them, but they are very basic. Should not be too hard to find replacements or just mask/airbrush them.
