Here's a really nice and simple to understand cross reference color source.

Check it out, I use it quite often.

Overall, AK's Real Colors seem to behave similar to Tamiya for me when used in an airbrush. I used AK thinner. One caution I would add - it is pretty much impossible to do any touch up work afterwards - the color brushed out of the jar was significantly different from the sprayed finish. At least it was with US Army Helo Drab for me.

Chris, if you thin those with Mr Levelling Thinner, you are going to LOVE them. Thinned with Tamiya X-20A works, but it'll turn out very gritty. But Mr Levelling Thinner... superb!

Thanks for that info. I didn't think to order propriatary thinner when I bought the paint on-line, but I do have Mr. Color Leveling Thinner 400 so I'm good to go!

I have just bought this paint, as I didn't have any colours to do any FAA or Coastal Command aircraft. I suppose I could have tried some Tamiya mixes, but thought I'd try this stuff.

There has been nothing in the news here about rioting in your part of the world. Wow! Stay safe there buddy!
Mr Color paints are good, with a nice extensive color selection, but personally I prefer the acrylic Mr Color line between the two. Those airbrush fantastically! And another line I might recommend, if you can get them there, are AK Real Colors. Talk about wow! Between those, Gunze Mr Hobby, and Tamiya, which all thin and airbrush great with Gunze Mr Levelling Thinner, all of the paint needs for most any military  subject are covered.

Stik mostly humbrol and tamiya enamels. I looked and I have all the needed colours in humbrol so will go with that for this build. We have had serious roits and looting here in SA quite close to me since the weekend and I cant safely go to work so my funds will be limited for "toys" for the next few months.

I am however keen on trying the mr hoby stuff in the near future.

You're quite welcome. I might suggest that you look at Mr Color Filed Gray (2) C52 as a substitute for Slate. It's not an exact match, but it would work for a weathered look.
Mr Color paints are good paints for airbrushing. They are a bit more challenging to hand brush though. And clean up is pretty much only done with their brand thinner or lacquer thinner.

What other paint lines do you have access to?

Ta Mr Stik, I also could not find any direct number for slat from Mr colour. I have not used this paint before but heard good things about it so wanted to try it.

It doesn't look like Gunze makes Slate in their Mr Color line up. Sky is C26 and Extra Dark Sea Grey is C331.
