Tamiya 60319
Posted by Postal on Tuesday, July 27, 2021 7:34 PM

So I have purchased my first scale model kit in many years (Tamiya 60319) as a gift for my father's 70th birthday which is still 12 months away.

So far I have just purchsed the bare kit but am also interested in getting as many 'upgrade' parts as I can. So far I have assembled a list of the following.

Eduard Spitfire Mk. IX Cockpit
Eduard Mk. IX Exterior
Eduard Mk. IX Landing flaps
Eduard Mk. IX Early steatbelts
Eduard Mk. IX wheels 4 spoke

Just wondering if there is anything else I should be getting, I really dont know where to look and have just been googling blindly so any pointers would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers

Nice gift!  Other's may be able to speak to what the kit may be lacking but there's lots of other goodies here just to start:

And here (scroll down to related products) also maybe check out a couple reviews:

EDIT: Also depends on what your father's skill set and patience level are

Thanks,

John

Thanks John, I'll take a look through the links. Also I should note I am doing the build painting and giving him the finished diorama.

Ah, got it.  Now the 12 months makes sense.

Thanks,

John
