Greetings!
I'd like to do the classic Monogram 1/48 B-29 as the notorious "Project Silver Plate" bomber known as "Straight Flush."
After years of poking around, I found the old Super Scale sheet 48-44, which has markings for "Straight Flush."
My dilemma is, Super Scale did the nose art with a very bright, lemon yellow circle, while the cartoon Japanese man has a green shirt.
But Hill AFB has recently painted up a B-29 as "Straight Flush," and they def. show the nose art as being a pale blue circle- not lemon yellow- and the Japanese man in a gray shirt- not bright green.
For all you decal experts out there, would there be a way to scan the Super Scale sheet, and just change the two colors to be more accurate? Print my onw corrected decal?
OR, there are some decent shots online of the new artwork on this recently painted up B-29 at Hill AFB.
Would it make sense to try to print up a new decal to scale based on these images, rather thry to "re-color" the old Super Scale sheet?
I'm still scratching my head about how Super Scale- usually so accurate- looked at photos of blue and gray nose art, and made it lemon yellow and lime green!
Where they sniffing little tubes of Testors glue in the 70s?
Many Thanks!
Best,
Christian
