F4F-4 Wildcat - 1/48 Tamiya
Posted by TranDuy on Monday, August 23, 2021 11:22 AM

My first ever Wildcat, I know this aircraft for a long time but never got the chance to buy and build it. Since I'm more fond of the Japanese side :D But looking at those details and rivet line out of the box. Make me think again and want to build it. The kit went well event it was released in 1999 or 1990 something. The only downside was the decal was very thick, and leave a lot of silver around it when applying. Thank you for watching :D

I made a painting video on my Youtube Channel, feel free to check it out. And thank you for enjoying my work

This is a fun kit to build isn't it? I love the F4F! Thanks for sharing.

The weathering is a touch heavy for my personal taste, but your skills are most impressive. I won't deny that they did indeed get dirty in the theater! :) And super aweome that you're on YouTube and IG! I'll be sure to follow and subscribe.

Very nice. Yes

I'm also a fan of the F4F-4, and hope to build one someday. Thanks for the inspiration.

Thank you so much my friend. This is the minimum weathered model I have ever did haha. Yes the kit is fun, just not the decal part though. Overal - Tamiya quality. One of the best.

Thank you my friend. This is my first Wildcat too. Saw them alot but never got the motivation to bought it and build it. But all the effort was worth it. And I think I will do some more American WW2 aircraft too

Very nice job TD. I think the weathering is perfect for a hard working Wildcat in that tropical environmen. Well done. I hope to get to your level of skill someday.

Your images are really, really good too!!

Very nice work.  I've seen photos of real Wildcats and thought "that's too much weathering".  It had to be the most weathered plane in the US inventory during the war.
