I'm ready to install the cockpit / flight deck / bomb rack on a 1/72 B17. In doing a fit check everything fits and aligns nicely
to the locators on the right fuselage. When I put the left one in place it solidly locks the cockpit into position, so well in fact I'm wondering if I should glue?
Glue to the locators, and tape the fuselage together and make sure the cockpit is it the right position. Wait to dry, remove the tape and cary on.

Deffinetly glue, don't chance it.

Another vote for gluing it in place. It will give you a more solid model, rather than one that creaks, squeaks, and groans when you handle it.

Glue- but...
What kind of glue are you using?
CA will permanently fog up any clear plastic within several inches (or more in a closed fuselage).
So if you have already installed the windows or turrets, be sure to use solvent glue only.

If you don't glue it, something WILL come loose. Usually the night before you enter it in a contest. And it will fall into an awkward part of the aircraft and be totally visible from the outside.
And don't ask me how I know that.
