But yeah, I loved the old Revell kit with the working gear. Their newer one sounds swell.

The Tamiya ones, John and I had a chance to work on one together. They are nice but complicated and costy.

I built the newest Revell version, added a pilot and it looks great. It's about $100 dollars less expensive than the Tamiya kits.  If your just looking for an exterior version then the Revell kit is good value.

Seconded!  I've built two of the new Revell Germany Mk IXc's.  They're fantastic.  I bought them second hand and the friend I got them from included a couple of PE sets for seat belts and the Tamiya kit decal for J.E. 'Johnny' Johnson's personal mount.  They went together really nicely and the kit decals from Revell (DN*T) were amazing.

I have the Tamiya Mk XVIe that I have been working on here and there and its amazing.

Tamiya has done the XIc, the VIII  and the XVIe and they are great kits.  Revell has done the Mk I and II, research the kit carefully as Revell has made a number of early Spitfires and some are from very old molds.  Hasegawa has done a lot of 1/32 Spitfires but none are recent molds, though there are nice kits.
