That must have been quite a surprise. I wonder what somebody's 262 looks like with Wildcat stencils...
Hmmm... a dogfight double mixing Pacific War 1942 USN and 1944 ETO Luftwaffe? Sounds like a Hollywood movie!
“Ya ya ya, unicorn papoi!”
armornut Thats why they...not Airfix but others....put the disclaimer that " contents may not match box art." Funny but you could have ended up with a 109 lol.

And all these years I always thought they were referring to it being unassembled and unpainted
we're modelers it's what we do
Might have been a double kit, and they forgot the 262 sprues and the other decal sheet and diagram
Funny! The PDF instructions on Scalemates don't have that

Maybe your kit is a 262 in Wildcat camo - some real 1946 stuff
Thanks,
John
Hi,
Today while shopping for supplies at Hobo Lobby I decided to through in an Airfix 1/72 FAF-4 Wildcat model, since it was only a few dollars (after discount). When I got it home and began to look it over I saw that it looks to be a fairly nice kit and is apparently a relatively new tooling (2015). I especially liked how in the instructions certain pieces are shaded in Red for emphasis. One weird thing though that I noticed is that there was apparently an Ooops during the printing of my instructions, as the last page appears to show "Common Stencil Data for an Me-262A" instead of the alternate paint and decal guide for my F4F-4.
Somewhere I suspect that there is probably some other model buidler looking over his Me-262A kit wondering why the paint instructions make it look like a USN figher off USS Enterprise in 1942
Pat
PS. Here's an image, but itmight be kind ofhard to see.
