Nice job. What does a pirate charge for corn ?....
Thanks,

Booty!
One of the weirder aircraft designs.
How was the kit?

Modeling is an excuse to buy books.
I like the Bucc! A super curvy design, but not in a sexy way. Yet those bulges were there for a good reason, making her one of the fastest subsonic planes at treetop (or wavetop) level.
Nice to see the new Airfix kit built up! Mine is in the "pending soon-ish" pile. It looks great in the box, but mine had a weird poo smell! I think the box and instructions (the paper?) are the culprits. I had read others had the same experience.
BUT, at the end of the day, like bad box art, it's what's inside that matters. Plus the poo smell is a strong (see what I did there?) incentive to build the kit and ditch the box!
“Ya ya ya, unicorn papoi!”
Lovely looking build!

I had to use a lot of body putty on it as I recall!
That looks fantastic. Is this the new tool or the older kit?

God, Family, Models...
At the plate: 1/48 Airfix Bf109 & 1/35 Tamiya Famo
On deck: Who knows!
Older tool!
Oh my, OK that's SERIOUSLY impressive you got that kit with the banana fuselage halves together!
Thanks!when I was building it I had to buy another tube of putty !
So now I sit here, with my non-banana fuselage, easy to build, modern Airfix Bucc, and all I can smell is poo.
You sir, are a real modeler! Hats off, bravo!
Thanks!I recall that I was at my local Hobby Shop and found an Eduard photo etch set for the kit for $3.50 so I ordered the kit .A lot of work but worth the effort!
Yeah, that old tool kit definitely had some issues that you overcame like a champ!
Looks like the Buc has some fans on the FSM forum!
Eugene Rowe Looks like the Buc has some fans on the FSM forum!
One fan right here! I might be inspired enough to tackle one of the two in my stash in the new year!
I have long been fascinated by the "Banana Jet". I built the 1/72 Matchbox kit back in the 1970s and was really taken by the lumpy, brick-like shape of the plane.
I was one of the "lucky ones" that bought the old 1/48 kit that Airfix had accidentally packed two complete kits in the box. I was shocked by the warped fuselage halves and overall poor quality. I thought nobody would ever do another Bucc, so I hung onto them in the hopes I could screw down the courage one day to actually build them.
I bought the new 1/48 Airfix kit on impulse, even though my favorite version is the RAF one with wraparound camo. But the box art was so cool (Bamboozled by the Box Art?) that the RN grew on me.
I hear that the new tooled kit is quite impressive!
Night and day when one compares the original to newer kit.
I wonder why Airfix made the bomb bay separate in the old kit? It seems a lot of the warpage problems stemmed from having that huge hole in the lower fuselage. On my original kits, getting the bomb bay door to fit cleanly looked like a fight!
Okay, all this talk about the Bucc makes me want to get the new Bucc on the workbench! See what you did Eugene? It spreads like cooties!
Get to it and let us know just how good the new Buc kit is!
Nice looking Buc Eugene! Would love to see some photos of it on a clean background!
On the Bench: Too Much
That should be addressed in the new year get some foam core.
