1/48 Monogram F-15 done.

Calling this one done and ready for the shelf.  Not my best build... certainly not my worst. Almost of the things that could be better with this build are me being impatient and wanting to get it done instead of taking the time to do it right...  some things are the kit... the fit is awful.  Im not opposed to filling and sanding... but where the nose assembly meets the fuselage its beyond filing and sanding...  the gap is like The Grand Canyon and in an interesting place to try n sand too... I was happy just to fill the hole. Its on the bottom so out of sight out of mind.  I may take some better pics later... lighting is an issue for me and out side if was gloomy today. Hope you guys enjoy

As always constructive critisism is welcome

Looks good to me. I like it.  Nice save on the gap.

I just watched a video on Scale Model Workshop where the author (a dentist) used CA and Dental Acrylic to fill large, irregularly shape gaps.  The results were amazing.  A gap like you had might be a good candidate for that technique.

Is the Hasegawa the best 1/48 F15?  When I say best I'm referring to fit.  I have the old Tamiya but I hear that has some issues.
Nice job.  This is one of my favorite airplanes.

Thanks for the kind words fellas...  as for the best F-15?  Ive only ever built the Monogram one so I dont have a basis for comparison. Ive built three and they all seem to have bad fit issues.

I've only built the 1/48 Hasegawa and Monogram F-15's.

With TLC, patience and LOTS of careful test fitting the Monogram kit turns out pretty decent but given the choice betw the two, I'd take the Hasegawa.

Nice job, but I'm more inclined to go for the Intercepter squadrons under NORAD, like the 5th FIS (my personal favorite for a few reasons), 48th FIS and the 318th FIS

My goal is to build aircraft from all the bases my father was stationed....  I still want to do an OT bird from Eglin and I need a Holloman one to add to my collection.  Eglin because its a test and eval base is gonna be fun... F-16, F-4s T-38s F-111s, A-10s WC-130s...  Im sure Im missing some
